Is SAFe agile?

I've been wary of approaching this subject for a very long time....  The Agile community despite speaking of respect can get very worked up and confrontational on such subjects!

If you're asking the question "Is SAFe agile?" you're asking the wrong question!!

Why are we looking at the framework and asking if it's Agile?

Do companies operating at scale really want to become Agile? or do they really want to optimise the way they do something?
